Certificate Level in Medical Science Physiotherapy (CPT)

Certificate Level in Physiotherapy (CPT) is a three-year academic program that aims to produce middle-level qualified, skilled, and competent physiotherapists, equipped with sound knowledge and skill. Physiotherapy is an emerging field in the health service sector. After the successful completion of this program, an individual will be eligible for registration at the Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC) in the Grade B Category. After completing registration, they will be eligible to work at a health institution, hospital & physiotherapy Center. This Program is also taken as an entry point for graduate-level academic programs like BPT (Bachelor in Physiotherapy) and BPH (Bachelor in Public Health). Students will also be eligible for the MBBS entrance Examination after completion of three months equivalent course, conducted by HSEB (Higher Secondary Education Board).

During the three-year course period, students will learn different subjects. In the first year, they have to study Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Anatomy and Physiology, Mathematics and Statistics, English, Nepali, and Social Studies. In the Second year, specialized subjects are included such as: Applied Anatomy and Physiology, Bio-mechanics, Therapeutic Exercise, Electrotherapy, Medicine and Surgery, Orthopedics and Pediatrics, Behavioral Science (Psychology and Sociology), Pathology and Pharmacology, Community Rehabilitation and First aid. The final year includes Physiotherapy Medicine and Surgery, Physiotherapy in Orthopedics, Physiotherapy in Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Health care Management, and intensive Clinical Practices at different related Hospitals.
